Ladies and gentlemen, stop modding your Wiis. If a forum post and screen shot found in the NeoGAF Forums turns out to be true, you could be playing a localized version of Xenoblade Chronicles as early as 4/3/2012. The screen shot from the post, apparently from GameStop’s computer system, says that the game will be a GameStop exclusive and will have a price tag of $49.99. I did a quick check of the other games featured in the screen shot and everything matches up pretty well.
This release date would make sense to help bridge the gap between the Wii and Wii U. Also, Nintendo of America already had a solid Holiday lineup with Super Mario 3D Land, The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, and Mario Kart 7. An April release date for Xenoblade Chronicles would give these games plenty of time on store shelves to get the sales that they need. April is also traditionally the low point for game sales for the year.
Here’s to hoping that the rumors are true and that we can finally get an epic JRPG for the Wii here in the good ol’ US of A.
